These models are all 14 SEER. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratings, and is the measure of an AC unit’s performance after taking into account the amount of energy it consumes. The higher the SEER number, the more energy efficient it is, which results in lower energy usage and lower energy costs.
14 SEER is the benchmark for all 50 states. Air conditioners with a 14 SEER rating or higher can be installed in any state.
A heat pump is not additional piece of equipment; instead it replaces your AC. It is a system of valves and switches that allow the normal air conditioning process to be reversed when heat is required. Under normal summer AC operation, heat is extracted from the interior of the mobile home and expelled to the atmosphere. But when the heat pump is activated, the process is reversed. Heat is extracted from the outer air – even in winter, there is heat in the atmosphere – and distributed inside.
With a 4 ton mobile home heat pump, you’ll be able to provide year-round climate control to an average mobile home in ideal conditions. Depending on your locale, you can get equally satisfactory results from a 3 ton heat pump split system for mobile homes.
