With these models, water is being heated for two purposes: (1) To heat the house and (2) To heat water for showers, tubs, sinks, dishwashers, and washing machines. Some models, like a Triangle Tube water boiler, generate hot water that can be used anywhere, for any purpose. Other models, like a tankless water heater, are for domestic use (sinks, showers, etc.) only. And then some, like a “smart” Triangle Tube water heater, coordinate the supply and the demand for hot water throughout the house and saves energy in the process.
Tankless Water Heaters
Triangle Tube makes a great series of tankless water heaters that operate at 95% efficiency or greater, meaning 95 cents out of every dollar you spend on energy bills goes directly toward hot water generation. The smallest of our models generates hot (120°) water at a rate of 4 GPM (Gallons Per Minute) – sufficient for an average household with no more than two bathrooms. The rate goes up from there with the bigger units.
Monitoring devices ensure that the gas burners are not activated if all demand for hot water is being met, and an electronic user interface makes adjustments easy, as well as setting programming for various functions.
Water Boilers
All our water boilers are condensing boilers. A condensing boiler captures escaping steam and reconstitutes it back to water, which is then piped back through the heating system. These condensing boilers are gas fueled, generating anywhere from 40,000 BTUs to well over 300,000 BTUs for the larger units.
Triangle Tube’s Prestige line features high grade stainless steel construction, two set points, multiple zone capability and can be programmed to six separate applications for things like baseboard registers, radiators, fan coils, or radiant heat systems.
Indirect Water Heaters
An indirect water heater uses a conventional furnace or a water boiler for its hot water. It does not have its own burner. What it does have is a tank and a coil. When the temperature of the water in the tank drops below the thermostat setting, it “calls” for more heat – hot water that circulates through the coil and heats the water in the tank.
The process of calling for and receiving hot water from the primary unit is called a “smart” process, one that gets the most out of the energy that is consumed in the making of hot water.
Combi (Combination) Water Heaters
Combination water heaters are condensing water heaters with an indirect water heater component. In other words, they heat the water and store it in way that hot water can be shared from the direct unit to the indirect unit. This produces an abundance of hot water immediately available for use, but also holds water in reserve without wasting energy.
Our selection of combi units have heating capacities ranging from 86,000 BTUs to over 300,000 BTUs. They are programmable for up to six applications and can network with other boilers (maximum six).
