This 4-ton 14 SEER Goodman AC unit can cool a medium to a large house or business building in an ideal climate. This is an air conditioning-only unit, but you can purchase an option heating coil to provide year-round comfort. SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating, and this 4-ton AC unit at 14 SEER will save 5-7% more electricity than a 13 SEER unit would.

The compressor on this unit is a reliable scroll-type compressor with only two moving parts: a fixed and orbital scroll that team up to create more compression in a shorter amount of time than a reciprocating compressor.

The primary benefit of a packaged AC unit is that it does not take up as much space as the components would if located separately. The biggest space savings is indoors, where you won’t have to commit a closet or a corner of a utility room to the air handler. The air handler is outside with all of the other units in the system, protected from the elements by heavy, galvanized steel.

The cabinet can be located on a slab at ground level, on a flat roof or on a landing with sufficient support for the unit. Pre-charged refrigerant lines make installation a bit easier, and the fan motor is fully enclosed and permanently lubricated to cut down on maintenance issues.
