Best Selling Heat Pumps

Heat pump condensers are functionally identical to an air conditioner, but with the added bonus of providing electric heat to your home. These condensers are perfect for days where only some heat is needed rather than the full power of a furnace.

Best Selling Heat Pump Systems

Heat pump systems are the traditional setup for a heat pump condenser, consisting of the condenser itself and an air handler. These systems are common among homes in the south where a furnace may not be a necessity.

Best Selling High Efficiency Heat Pump Systems

These high efficiency systems boast new advances in inverter compressor technology for a multitude of benefits, including:

- Ultra-precise temperature control to meet your specific comfort needs

- Massive cost savings with many rebate opportunities versus standard heat pump condensers

- Safe and effective operation in temperatures below 0°F, much lower than the usual 35°F threshold most heat pumps have

What Is A Heat Pump?

The heat pump is the part of the ac system that stays outside of the structure being climate controlled. Working together with the compressor; when the system is in cooling mode it uses the compressor to pressurize the freon into a hot liquid. When the system is in heating mode the heat pump reverses that process and sends the warm air back into your home as opposed to ejecting the hot air outdoors.

For most parts of the country, a heat pump system can handle all of your home’s heating or cooling needs, year-round. A heat pump system can save you hundreds of dollars every year on energy costs, and a new, amazingly-efficient heat pump system from HVACDirect.com can save you even more, starting with the purchase price! We have a large inventory and we carry great brands, like Goodman and ACiQ. They are committed to providing value to the customer and so are we.

A heat pump isn’t an add-on to a home AC system. It is a home AC system. Essentially, the components that make up a heat pump are already in place in a standard central air conditioning system.

In summer, the AC system removes heat from inside the house and releases it to the atmosphere. In winter, the heat pump system removes heat from the atmosphere and releases it to the inside of the house.

It may seem odd to think of heat existing in the winter atmosphere, but it does. There are limits, however. When the outside air temperature is below 35°F, the heat pump’s efficiency is diminished, and you’d be better off using conventional heating methods. That’s why a standard electric furnace is included in virtually all AC/heat pump systems.

HVACDirect.com is proud to be a distributor for Goodman and ACiQ heat pump systems. These two name brands are synonymous with high quality at a fair price. We carry systems ranging from 1.5 tons to 5 tons in a variety of configurations.

Before calling one of our heating and air experts, take note of the square footage you intend to heat, and let us know about vaulted ceilings, large windows, drafty areas, etc. Your location will also be a determining factor. If you live in an extreme northern area, a heat pump may be of little use to you. But elsewhere - and it’s a surprisingly large area - a heat pump system could result in a lot of energy savings.

Our heat pumps are priced to save you money while providing you a quality product. We provide a large selection of heat pumps to ensure that you get exactly what you want or need. Feel free to look at the specs on all our models and if you have any questions about any of our heat pumps, contact us and we would be happy to help you. What Is The Difference Between A Heat Pump And A Condenser?

The difference between a heat pump and a condenser is that a heat pump is a type of condenser. A condenser is a component of an air conditioning system that receives pressurized refrigerant from inside the home, extracts the heat contained in that gas and expels it to the atmosphere. A heat pump reverses the process and extracts heat from the atmosphere and delivers it to the interior. Standard Heat Pump and a Split System Heat Pump | Information Library

How Does A Heat Pump Condenser Work?

A heat pump condenser works by reversing the heat transfer process utilized by the AC system to cool a house.

Cooling Process:

  • Heat is absorbed by pressurized, super-heated refrigerant flowing through the evaporator coil.
  • The refrigerant then flows to the condenser coil, where the heat is extracted and expelled into the atmosphere.
  • When the heat is removed, cold air takes its place. The system does not create cold air; it removes heat.

Heating Process:

  • The roles of the evaporator coil and condenser coil are reversed. Heat from the atmosphere is absorbed by the condenser coil and is released by the evaporator coil.
