Buying a standalone Bosch Heat Pump Condenser is a cost-effective way to fix your current split system if the air handler is still working properly. While some minor heat pump issues can be repaired, simply getting a replacement may be the better option if the price tag for a repair is high. For these kinds of replacements, a good rule of thumb is if the repair costs 50% or more compared to a replacement condenser, get the replacement.

A traditional heat pump condenser will stop working if the outside temperature hits around 5°F or lower, making it well-suited for areas that hardly drop below that threshold. That being said, heat pumps can still be used in colder areas in conjunction with other sources of heat. Furnaces can be incorporated into your setup to create a Dual Fuel System, where the furnace will kick on when the temperature threshold is crossed. You can also add an Electric Heat Kit to your air handler that will act as a temporary heat source while the outside temperature is below that threshold. If temperature isn't an issue but you still need a full system, you'll want a Heat Pump Split System.

IDS Light

The IDS Light 15 SEER system is the first inverter condenser on the market to combine premium inverter technology with standard efficiency. As the first 15-SEER inverter condenser on the market, IDS Light delivers the steady energy use and minimal noise expected of an IDS system at an unbeatable price point. The BOVA15 outdoor unit is available in 24k, 36k and 60k BTU capacity and can be paired with one of three air handlers: the BVA15 multi-positional air handler, the BWA16 wall-mount air handler, or the BCA16 ceiling-mount air handler.

The IDS Light can achieve up to 16.0 SEER and 9 HSPF. The high-efficiency variable capacity inverter compressor in the Bosch BOVA15 can adjust to any speed between 33% and 110% (in 1% increments), to perfectly cool and heat your home using minimal energy for maximum comfort. The condensing units come standard with an electronic expansion valve (EEV) to ensure proper refrigerant flow during all conditions to optimize the unit’s operation to the highest efficiency possible. The direct-drive fan blades provide vortex suppression to reduce the sound of airflow exiting the condensing section, which results in sound levels as low as 59 dBA.

IDS Plus

The IDS Plus 18 SEER system provides the perfect balance of efficiency and comfort, without breaking the bank. This system combines the efficient and reliable BOVB18 outdoor unit with our exceptional BVA20 two stage x13 ECM style air handler.

The high-efficiency variable capacity inverter compressor can adjust to speeds ranging from 26% to 130% to perfectly cool and heat your home using minimal energy for maximum comfort. The BOVB18 outdoor unit can adjust to any speed between 26% and 110% (in 1% increments). The direct-drive fan blades provide vortex suppression to reduce sound of airflow exiting the condensing section, thereby retaining low noise at high speed - with sound levels as low as 56 dBA.

IDS Premium and Premium Connected
