Evaporator coils work in tandem with the condenser unit that sits outside the mobile home. For instance, a 4 ton mobile home evaporator coil can work with the condenser and air handler to regulate the temperature in a fairly large mobile home. Likewise, a 3 ton mobile home evaporator coil is suitable for an average size mobile home and a 2.5 ton evaporator coil works best for mobile homes that are small, or located in areas where not a lot of air conditioning is needed.
When is it time to replace your evaporator coil? Your body should tell you. An evaporator coil’s main summer job is to absorb heat inside the home. If the fins are dirty, clogged and corroded, the evaporator can’t do its job as well. The system works harder, yet you still feel uncomfortable. Sometimes, attempts to clean the fins make matters worse, because dirt and debris gets pushed toward the center.
