What is an evaporator coil?
The evaporator coil is the part of your air conditioner or heat pump system that gets colder when the unit operates (or warmer when using the heat pump during winter). It's usually installed/mounted in (or connected inline with) the ductwork of your home. When the HVAC system is on, air passes through the coil and the cool air (or hot air when heat pump is in use) is distributed throughout the home. All of our coils are rated in sizes from 1.5 to 5 tons.
What is a vertical evaporator coil?
A cased vertical evaporator coil is used with furnaces in the upflow or downflow position. The coils have physical dimensions to correspond to the various widths of furnaces available on our website and are designed to fit correctly with the furnace.
If I replace my condenser, do I need to replace my evaporator coil as well?
We recommend replacing the evaporator coil if it does not match the new condenser. Having a mismatched coil with a new condenser can lead to problems.
