Probably the biggest project I've ever attempted. Went surprisingly well. Had to flip the heat exchanger innerds to a downdraft, which was a little scary, but the instructions were easy to follow. Had a little confusion with the wiring, but called for help and they explained everything perfectly. Never had whole house AC before and couldn't be happier.

The trucking outfit that delivered unit first , delivery was good , second was not , driver told me if I had not been there he would have left it on the street , inside unit was second . There was about 2 weeks between receiving the two pieces . Second driver was not very nice .

Quite impressive heat pump performance, nearly magical, actually. Quiet running. Seems solid and of sound quality. Solid air handler box. Comparing to a single speed buzzer unit this one is light years ahead. Just install it properly without haste; have a clean, tested, secure lineset and add exactly what it says for extra refrigerant for the purged lines- no guestimation. Slight chinglish in the documentation however if you know your craft this isnt a problem. Quite easy setup: there are numerous extra settings if youd like but it generally works best with a communicating setup and most options left factory set. The technology is amazing, and the thermostat included although may not be the friendliest works great.

Still need new line for refrigerant. Old lines soldered much smaller

Delivery was fast and the unit was packaged good. Nothing cheap about the indoor or outdoor unit, looks well made.

Will be buying another in the future

My HVACDirect purchase and shipment service was excellent. It took a couple of contact attempts, but HVACDirect got back to me via email to address my concerns about liftgate delivery service.

As advised by HVACDirect, I found an excellent independent contractor via Thumbtack to replace my old failed heat pump system with the new ACiQ-24 ducted inverter system after larger companies refused to take a labor-only job.

I replaced my Nest 2nd Generation Learning Thermostat (24V) with the ACiQ communicating smart thermostat to take full advantage of the inverter efficiency features. While I miss some of the Nest features (e.g. app-based usage monitoring and control, current weather display), I was happily surprised to find an IR remote control included with the smart thermostat advertised with the packaged system. That said, an RF or WiFi remote would be more useful when there is no line of sight to the wired thermostat.

The ACiQ installation and wiring manuals are pretty good, but the thermostat functions could be organized and explained more clearly. For example, separating features specific to mini-splits vs ducted installations, and providing more information on how Sleep and Turbo modes affect operation of the system.

Overall, putting in a bit of effort on my part saved me thousands of dollars on a high-efficiency HVAC upgrade and I'm eligible to claim a federal income tax credit of 30% of the entire project cost, up to $2000. So far, I'm very pleased.

It worked really well. Our first ACIQ, requested by the customer. We created our own problems not being familiar with the model. It was taken care of by AD. Great product.

I haven’t installed my new unit yet, but I was very pleased with my experience ordering it. The rep I spoke with with very helpful and friendly, recommended the product that I purchased, and was very informative.
