The equipment arrived in a timely manner in great condition with no damage. I had a local contractor Temperaturepro do the installation. The removed my existing 20 year old 10 SEER AC/Gas furnace and installed the Inverter system.

My only issue was there was no control cable included with the line set, which I did not realize when I purchased the system and the sales rep did not indicate that I needed that item. Fortunately, they were able to locate it locally but I had to purchase the entire roll of cable which added another $160 to my total. I would have purchased through you if I had known it was not included.

The other issue was that the included thermostat was faulty. It worked for around a day but I could not control the fan speed and then quit working with a communication error the next day. The installer came back and after discussion with your technical support, we were able to use my old thermostat for the system to work. However, being a non-communicating type I don't have full control of all of the inverter system features.

I contacted your service department last week and they sent a replacement thermostat which arrived today. I will install soon to make sure the system is fully operational.

Overall, my experience with HVACDIRECT was great. I would recommend to consider this option to others.

I’ll tell you what: my electricity bill is about half what it used to be. And it is super quiet. Last winter, I didn’t even need the back up heat even at 0° F. And this summer, the air quality has been just great. Dry and cool.

I am not an HVAC professional. I am a 72-year-old homeowner with a working knowing knowledge of home construction and technology. I bought this because the heat pump in my detached home office failed, and the local HVAC contractors wanted more than I was willing to pay. The bids ran from $7,500 to $10,000.

When I was installing this heat pump, I called tech support because I thought the installation instructions were wrong. My old Goodman needed a 30-amp circuit for the outside unit and a 30-amp circuit for the inside unit. Mr. Cool needed a single 30-amp circuit for the outside unit and then back-fed the indoor unit on three 14-AWG wires. That came as a welcome surprise because this was going to draw considerably less power. The heat strips for both the old and new systems require a 60-amp circuit.

The third night after the installation, the temperature dropped to 7 degrees, and the inside temperature held where I set it. Mr. Cool ran most of the night and the auxiliary heat strips never engaged. But I called tech support again the next day to troubleshoot the problem. The heat strips on the heat pump for the house come on at about 30 degrees.

To my amazement, there wasn’t a problem. It just didn’t get cold enough for the auxiliary heat to kick in. It's 28 degrees outside right now and it's warm and cozy in here. I just checked and Mr. Cool is pulling 7.5 amps. I am an old dog learning some new tricks, this variable-speed compressor and inversion technology is amazing. Come springtime, the old heat pump servicing the house is going to retire. I’m replacing it with another Mr. Cool. One more thing, I have worked in the tech sector for many years and HVAC Direct has provided outstanding tech support. Thanks, guys.
