Description

The Amana PTAC heat pump units are energy efficient with EER up to 11.7 which allows for lower utility costs. This PTAC unit features 2 fans that provide quiet operation while keeping your environment comfortable. The 7-button touch pad gives complete temperature control. The units are 100% factory run tested which includes leak tests. Increased dehumidification capacity helps maintain moisture levels keeping you cooler. Filters easily pull-out for washing, and removable condenser shroud permits easy access to clean coils which is essential to maintain efficiency, and aids to protect the compressor promoting long life to the unit. These units have a filter drier for Sealed System Refrigerant and uses earth friendly R-0410A.

Operating instructions for units with 2 dial knobs only.

We do not have any literature on models like that. You can reach out to Amana directly at 1-(855) 502-3903 and they should be able to assist you.

Does the unit require a outside vent through the wall?

There is no further outside venting required beyond the PTAC's usual installation of being mounted through a hole cut into the wall for the entire size of the unit (16" x 42"). If you have any further questions, please call us and we will be happy to assist you.

Is there a minimum space above floor this unit can be installed?

While the unit itself has an 8 inch minimum clearance from objects, the clearance from the floor is dependent on the accessories used to mount the PTAC into the wall. If installed with just the standard wall sleeve accessory, your minimum clearance will be zero inches. For more information on other mounting clearances, please see page 2 of the Installation Guide on the Amana PTAC Unit Wall Sleeve (Item SKU: WS900E). Can you use a 20 Amp breaker with this unit?

No you cannot. The Amana PTH153G50AXXX requires a breaker with a maximum size of 30A. While it can run at 20A, if it tries starting up on a hot day with a 20A breaker you run the risk of damaging it. 30A is needed to prevent any issues with running the PTAC. What size room will it heat and cool?

The size room this PTAC will be able to heat and cool is dependent on geographic location as well as other characteristics of the room it would be installed in, such has amount of windows, high ceilings, age of the building, insulation, etc.. Our Sizing Guide can help you figure out if it will work for your room. Scroll towards the bottom of the guide to the Quick Sizing calculator. Plug in the room's square footage and your zip code and the resulting heating/cooling estimates will be the target BTU you will want from a PTAC. Alternatively, you can always call in and a member of our sales team will be happy to walk you through the whole sizing process.
