Air Conditioners are the outdoor unit of a split HVAC system. It can be paired with a coil and air handler to make a split AC system or with a furnace and coil to create a complete central heating and cooling system.

We offer AC condensers from Goodman, one of the most popular brands in central air conditioning and HVAC systems. Goodman AC condensers are equipped with sound-dampening, quality construction to ensure quiet operation and efficient performance. We also offer ACiQ condensers, which are high quality central air units containing the same technology as other top brands like Tempstar and Comfortmaker, but at more affordable pricing.

AC condensers, being the heart and soul of any air conditioning system, contain many parts to handle the heat-absorbing refrigerant within them:

  • The heat exchanger section cools down and condenses incoming refrigerant vapor into liquid.
  • The compressor is a pump with a powerful motor that raises the pressure of the refrigerant and keeps it moving. There are three different types of compressors to choose from, which is discussed in further detail below.
  • The fan blows outside air through the heat exchanger section to cool the refrigerant inside.
  • The suction line is a tube that carries vapor refrigerant from your home to your condenser.
  • The liquid line is another tube that carries liquid refrigerant from your condenser to your home.

Each condenser has one of three different compressor stage options: single-stage, two-stage and variable speed.

  • Single stage is the most common compressor type for central air systems and turns on at 100% when your home temperature goes above your thermostat setting.
  • Two stage (or dual stage) compressors have two capacities, one at 100% and one at 50%. Having the extra capacity means the condenser has fewer on and off cycles, allowing it to operate more efficiently than single stage but less than variable speed models.
  • Variable speed compressors have many different settings that give you extremely precise control over your condenser. This will allow your home to cool even more efficiently, reducing indoor humidity and moisture, and create a more even and continual temperature in the home.
