Ductless Mini-Split Rebates

The Federal Inflation Reduction Act (IRA)

January 1, 2023, the Inflation Reduction Act expanded federal income tax credits you can claim for energy-efficient home improvements including mini-split equipment and high efficiency ducted heat pump systems. Tax credits are 30% of your total cost up to $2,000. Additional credits may be available based on your income. 

• Equipment must be on the CEE List of Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4 heat pumps to qualify for the tax credits. Energy Star heat pumps are not required, but all Energy Star equipment DOES qualify.
• The CEE List of qualifying heat pumps only includes multi-zone equipment, as it is designed to support increased whole-home efficiency. Single Zone mini-splits do not qualify. 
• Equipment Requirements for the 25C Energy Tax Credit:
  • ALL of United States: 16 SEER2 or Greater
  • Southern United States: 12 EER2 or Greater
  • Northern United States: 9 EER2 or Greater
  • Southern United States: 9 HSPF2 or Greater
  • Northern United States: 9.5 HSPF2 or Greater

The Inflation Act also provided 4.5 billion in funding for local and state governments as well as utilities to support home upgrades. Here are some tips for finding out if you qualify for more rebates and money saving!
