The Fantech FIT 120E-D is a compact, ceiling or wall-mounted energy recovery ventilator designed for tight spaces in multi-family residences. Delivering up to 127 CFM of fresh air, this unit features an advanced energy recovery core that transfers heat and moisture for improved indoor comfort and energy savings. Its integrated shut-off damper prevents unwanted air infiltration during standby or defrost mode, making it ideal for efficient, all-season ventilation. Perfect for condos, apartments, and spaces without mechanical rooms.

Key Features

  • Energy Recovery Core: Features a polymeric transfer media that enables water vapor transport, is freeze tolerant, and can be washed with water.
  • Frost Prevention Mechanism: Automatically activates when outdoor temperatures reach 14°F or lower to protect the system and resume normal operation afterward.
  • Drain-Free Design: No need for a drain—moisture is transferred from incoming to outgoing air during circulation.
  • Customizable Airflow Control: Offers multi-speed airflow from 40 to 127 CFM, adjustable via the external electrical box or an optional wall control.
  • Included Air Filters: Comes with two washable UL900-certified electrostatic panel filters and a MERV-3 filter, with an optional MERV-8 upgrade.
  • Secure Duct Connections: 5-inch side port metal collars with rubber gaskets ensure tight, leak-free duct integration.
  • Optional Shut-Off Damper: Select models include a mechanical damper to prevent backdraft during standby or defrost mode.
  • Compact Design: Slim profile ideal for condos or apartments with limited mechanical space; fits easily above a drop ceiling.

Customer Questions
What is an ERV?
An ERV (Energy Recovery Ventilator) exchanges stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while transferring heat and humidity between the two streams, improving comfort and efficiency.
How is an ERV different from an HRV?
ERVs transfer both heat and moisture, helping balance indoor humidity. HRVs only transfer heat.
Who manufactures Fantech ERVs?
Fantech ERVs are manufactured by Fantech, a multinational company specializing in ventilation and air exchange solutions for residential and light commercial applications, with a focus on energy efficiency, indoor air quality, and reliable performance.
Are Fantech ERVs energy efficient?
Yes. Fantech ERVs are engineered for energy efficiency, featuring advanced energy recovery cores that transfer heat and moisture between incoming and outgoing air streams. This helps reduce heating and cooling loads while maintaining balanced, comfortable indoor air throughout your home or light commercial space.
Will an ERV increase or reduce my heating and cooling costs?
An ERV usually helps reduce heating and cooling costs. It brings in fresh air while transferring heat and moisture from the outgoing air to the incoming air, so your HVAC system doesn’t have to work as hard. While the ERV uses a small amount of electricity to run, it’s far more efficient than bringing in untreated outdoor air—especially in hot or cold climates.
