The most efficient and most controllable fuel for fire pits is gas. It burns cleanly, it’s relatively cheap, and with the propane versions of these models, it’s self-contained. Some models come with a LP gas conversion kit, so that your fire pit can use the same gas as the rest of your house.
The key to your outdoor comfort is getting a good match between the capacity of the fire pit to the heating needs of your outdoor area. Our gas fire pits range from 10,000 BTUs to over 100,000 BTUs. If you live in an area where the temperature drops dramatically after sundown or you have a large area to heat, you’ll need a higher capacity fire pit. Windy conditions also warrant higher heating capacities.
