Goodman manufactures multi-positional air handlers with an adaptable filter coupling system they call “Smartframe.” A Goodman Smartframe air handler provides enhanced stability and easier installation with its special mounting configurations for upflow, downflow, or horizontal flow. For easier maintenance, the air handler also has side and top access panels.
ACiQ accomplishes the multi-positional capability with a sturdy cabinet that can be turned to any position necessary for the various airflow patterns (after the installer first removes the evaporator coils).
Making installation easy is just one of the attributes of these impressive air handlers. Powerful blower motors create airflow that delivers comfort throughout the house. Ratings range from 1.5 tons all the way up to 5 tons. Air speed is monitored and automatically adjusted for both efficiency and comfort.
Make sure when you order to keep the tonnage of the air handler greater than that of the outside condenser for the ultimate in energy efficiency.
