Can chimney be shortened by a out 6 inches? What is diameter of chimney?

Confirmed from the vendor that this pipe is decorative but they have not tried to modify the pipe in anyway. The diameter of the pipe is 5.25". Please see the Assembly Manual/Instructions on how the pipe is attached.
