Can this fan be mounted horizontally? I need to exhaust air from a shaft and it needs to be mounted to an opening in the ceiling.

We would not recommend mounting this fan horizontally in a ceiling or roof opening. For exhausting air through a roof opening from a shaft, we recommend using a roof-mounted exhaust fan specifically designed for that application.
