Can you remotely turn this unit off and on?

Thank you for your question. This mini split system includes a handheld remote controller that can be used to control the system. It also comes with a smart controller which you can plug into your air handler. This smart controller makes your unit wi-fi enabled, thus giving you the ability to control it from your phone, Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
