Do I need a disconnect panel to install this surge protector on a Fujitsu mini split system?

Thank you for your question. Most building codes require a disconnect box for the outdoor unit. For this reason, we do not recommend bypassing the disconnect box. The surge protector is typically housed in the breaker panel or next to the breaker panel rather than being housed outside with the outdoor condenser.
