Can this Superior Fireplace be installed inside of an existing brick masonry fireplace and made operational?

The Superior WRT2036WSI must be installed into a wood framed cavity such as in new construction or remodel, it cannot be installed into an existing masonry fireplace opening. A wood burning fireplace insert is intended to be installed into a masonry fireplace opening.
