Today's Hours 10am - 6pm estThe S12-E1 has an overall rough opening that is larger than the space between standard 2x6 studs on 16" centers. A typical stud bay provides approximately 14½ inches of clear space, so this fan will not fit between the studs without modification. To install this unit in a standard framed wall, you would typically need to cut and reframe the opening, which generally involves removing one stud and adding the appropriate header and framing to maintain the wall's structural integrity. If you'd prefer to avoid modifying the framing, we'd be happy to recommend a shutter exhaust fan designed to fit within a standard 16" on-center stud bay. Feel free to let us know your desired airflow (CFM) or the size of your shop, and we can suggest the best option.
