How do heat pump water heaters compare to traditional electric water heaters?

Heat pump water heaters are typically 2 to 4 times more energy efficient than traditional electric water heaters because they move heat from the surrounding air instead of generating heat solely with electric resistance elements. This can reduce water-heating energy costs by up to 75% while still providing reliable hot water for your home.
