Is this a O or B type unit? Do you recommend running shielded wire from the outdoor to the indoor unit? Does this come with a mitigation board?

The EZ-24-EHPB / EZ-24-AHB is a communicating heat-pump system rather than a conventional O/B thermostat setup, so the S1/S2 communication wiring should be treated as a two-conductor communication circuit. I recommend running shielded 2-conductor wire from the outdoor unit to the indoor unit, particularly if the communication cable will run near high-voltage wiring or other sources of electrical interference, although the manufacturer specifies 20 AWG 2-conductor wiring and does not appear to require shielding. The system does include the required electronics for the A2L refrigerant leak-detection/safety system, including the 24V PCB, although the documentation does not specifically call it a “mitigation board.”
