Yes, these risers are appropriate for a 3 ton heat pump. They are not a substitute for an equipment pad; they are used alongside the pad. They elevate the heat pump to allow the condensate accumulated from its Defrost Mode to drip off the base. Without the risers, the condensate will pool in the base of the heat pump, potentially causing damage in below freezing temperatures.
