What do you mean by vent free? Is there a heat-gas-ect smell in the house?

Vent free refers to not needing an open damper to burn. These logs have different burners that allow a clean burn with little to no exhaust. As an example, it works similarly to how a gas oven works in your kitchen. Please check your state guidelines regarding vent-free products.
