The 4 ton 15.2 SEER2 unit is one of the new models developed by Goodman that follows the new Department of Energy (DOE) guidelines that will begin on January 1st, 2023. The SEER2 specification is the result of this guideline; it is a new measurement of efficiency developed by the DOE that shows that the condenser adheres to the new rules. This particular model (the GSZH5 series) is actually the direct replacement for the 4 ton 16 SEER model (the GSZ16 series). To put it simply, they are essentially the same condenser. The main difference is that one follows the new DOE guidelines while the other does not.
