Clean burning, non-catalytic wood burning stoves introduce new oxygen into the firebox before the smoke leaves the stove. The new oxygen is ignited, creating a secondary burn. This generates more heat and creates a cleaner burn.

Does this stove qualify for a tax credit?

Yes this model qualifies for tax credit. Bear in mind however that this model is a fireplace insert and not a stove. Can you use in a prefab fireplace?

This question may be better for the company the prefab fireplace came from. Whether or not the fireplace is certified to be equipped with wood burning inserts would allow for determining which is best suited for you. Why is the 3500 cheaper than the 2700 ,a bigger model, more btu?

The 2700 is a more compact heater, designed to be flush mounted into a masonry fireplace with a more decorative cast iron façade. The 3500 is absolutely a larger, workhorse of a heater. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.

Does it automatically adjust the airflow on startup and reloads?

The Osburn luckily does not have a timer on the air control for startup and reloads. That technology sounds good in theory but has had issues in the field. If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
