    So far so good. It has been in service for only 2 weeks as a heat pump. I hope it works well in AC mode as well. Some sort of feet on the bottom of the unit to help leveling and reduce vibration would be nice.

I had hoped the carrier would have been able to load it into our warehouse, but instead he had to drop it on the sidewalk next to our building due to his truck being so large and company policy. Other than that, it was a smooth transaction.

    I had a great experience with my purchase from HVACDirect. I worked with Chad and he did an incredible job helping me to find an AC unit and had it delivered within a couple days. I'm especially grateful for his assistance because I do have a couple local AC companies that were not able to get a unit for between 2 and 4 weeks due to supply chain issues. My impression was Chad really put forth extra effort to be able to get the unit quickly. It was over 100 degrees and the existing unit failed completely so his effort was very much appreciated.



    Lastly - I did want to share that because of the great work by Chad that I was able to cancel my order from Alpine home air since they failed to meet their promise to ship the same day as the payment was made by several days. In fact, I received my order sooner than I would have received the unit from Alpine Air if they would have shipped it on time.



    HVAC Direct has a new loyal customer as a result.

  22. Bought this unit in November so needed to have it running as soon as possible.

    I am a "used-to-be"; I used to be in the trade, and so decided self installation with all my supplies was my best path. It was definitely a good one. I have a vacuum pump, manifolds, micron gage, supplies, everything but a recovery unit and recovery cylinder, so I was pretty much good to go. I hooked up with a pal and we recovered the refrigerant from the old unit.

    All the new is good news:

    The condenser was overpack wrapped with additional 1" thick protective cardboard.

    The line set was packaged inside the overpack for the condenser.

    Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of the system and my buying experience with HVACDirect. I received the entire heat pump system (i.e. indoor and outdoor units and refrigerant line) within 4 days of placing the order, and all material was received undamaged and in full working order. The material came well packed and secured. My only critical comment is that the shipping notice was sent to me on the morning of the day I received the unit - more advance notice would have been helpful. I would highly recommend HVACDirect based on my experience.

    The GSZ140241LA engineering has moved to a Taiwanese Reichi compressor (same with the 1.5T) that has a fairly unpleasant metallic sound, mainly on the left side of the unit. Unit performs exactly in line with the datasheet, at least. Recommend going to one of the 16 SEER offerings where you still get a Copeland compressor, or upsize to 3T where you get LG, which also appears to be a nice compressor.

    So far so good. The new smell from the furnace is slowly abating.

    The 25 year old bi-metal thermostat was not compatible with the assembly,

    so I purchased a new one from Amazon. It was an inexpensive digital thermostat that seems to work well with the new furnace.I have learned to try to keep things as simple as possible.

    The furnace was installed and has gone through a variety of weather conditions since. All seems to be good. We were actually surprised at how quickly it was delivered. We are hoping that the next utility bill will also reflect some gas usage reductions, even though it is not one of the highest rated furnaces. However, one comment was that it was (slightly) more noisy than the previous furnace.

    I know it's been a couple of months since I got this. But I wasn't ready to respond. To date, I have not had the heater unit installed. Old one is still working and I am waiting for better weather. The Heater seems to be ok, looks like it should do what I want. Only issue for me is I am not real happy that it seems so many of our products are built outside the US. But this one is built in Mexico which I prefer over China. I think it will give good service for years to come, once it's actually installed. I was very happy with the help and support I got from purchasing the unit through you folks.     I'm an HVAC tech I can get my units for less with HVACDIRECT than my local supply co. I just bought ana 2 ton Goodman air handler and will be buying a heat pump condenser soon from these guys. they are very knowledgeable and provide great service
