  6. Goodman refuses to fix
    The concerns the maker, not HVACDirect. Goodman's warranty has an absolute arbitration clause, clue #1 CYA and they would not their mistake with the homeowner direct. They will talk to your professional installer OR who sold the unit. Problem: The spy hole in the bottom panel is in the wrong place - Error codes are NOT visible unless the cover is removed, which the interlock switch prevents the unit from operating. The circuit bd placement or assembly error is not something the homeowner needs to spend $$ correcting. I have no respect for Goodman, and the 1 stars reflect upon them. Is it just my unit? That's why a class action would help but it is not legally allowed.

    So far so good. It has been in service for only 2 weeks as a heat pump. I hope it works well in AC mode as well. Some sort of feet on the bottom of the unit to help leveling and reduce vibration would be nice.

I had hoped the carrier would have been able to load it into our warehouse, but instead he had to drop it on the sidewalk next to our building due to his truck being so large and company policy.     I had a great experience with my purchase from HVACDirect. I worked with Chad and he did an incredible job helping me to find an AC unit and had it delivered within a couple days. I'm especially grateful for his assistance because I do have a couple local AC companies that were not able to get a unit for between 2 and 4 weeks due to supply chain issues. My impression was Chad really put forth extra effort to be able to get the unit quickly. It was over 100 degrees and the existing unit failed completely so his effort was very much appreciated.



    Lastly - I did want to share that because of the great work by Chad that I was able to cancel my order from Alpine home air since they failed to meet their promise to ship the same day as the payment was made by several days. In fact, I received my order sooner than I would have received the unit from Alpine Air if they would have shipped it on time.



    HVAC Direct has a new loyal customer as a result.

    I am a "used-to-be"; I used to be in the trade, and so decided self installation with all my supplies was my best path. It was definitely a good one. I have a vacuum pump, manifolds, micron gage, supplies, everything but a recovery unit and recovery cylinder, so I was pretty much good to go. I hooked up with a pal and we recovered the refrigerant from the old unit.

    All the new is good news:

    The condenser was overpack wrapped with additional 1" thick protective cardboard.

    The line set was packaged inside the overpack for the condenser.

    Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of the system and my buying experience with HVACDirect. I received the entire heat pump system (i.e. indoor and outdoor units and refrigerant line) within 4 days of placing the order, and all material was received undamaged and in full working order. The material came well packed and secured. My only critical comment is that the shipping notice was sent to me on the morning of the day I received the unit - more advance notice would have been helpful. I would highly recommend HVACDirect based on my experience.

    The GSZ140241LA engineering has moved to a Taiwanese Reichi compressor (same with the 1.5T) that has a fairly unpleasant metallic sound, mainly on the left side of the unit. Unit performs exactly in line with the datasheet, at least. Recommend going to one of the 16 SEER offerings where you still get a Copeland compressor, or upsize to 3T where you get LG, which also appears to be a nice compressor.

  90. Everything went as planned
    I installed the little furnace the afternoon it arrived. Well I transported it 100 miles northward and then installed it on the plenum I had built for the former furnace. I made certain the footprint was the same as the former downdraft. The unit is an upgrade to the 40,000 BTU, which operated well for about 15 years there.
    As far as dealing with you folks, everything went as planned, save for the delivery delay due to whatever strange weather was plaguing everyone the one day. No fault of yours. My plan was to install before that wicked sub-zero set in and I accomplished that. No frozen water pipes in our cabin in the forest.

    I finally got that furnace installed. I'm pretty happy with it, mostly probably because I'm warmer, but it was a pleasant experience buying from HVAC Direct. Even the shipper was nice and prompt. I don't have any complaints, except I didn't know what I was doing when I started. Had I to do it over again, I would wish that you carried some of the ducting and plenum and filter box I needed, although through my learning here, that might be difficult and there are a lot of custom items that might be impossible to stock. I really hope to use you again if I purchase A/C, and I referred my sister to you for a new heat pump and will continue to do so with others.

    I am a "used-to-be"; I used to be in the trade, and so decided self installation with all my supplies was my best path. It was definitely a good one. I have a vacuum pump, manifolds, micron gage, supplies, everything but a recovery unit and recovery cylinder, so I was pretty much good to go. I hooked up with a pal and we recovered the refrigerant from the old unit.

    All the new is good news:

    The condenser was overpack wrapped with additional 1" thick protective cardboard.

    The line set was packaged inside the overpack for the condenser.

    Overall, I am very satisfied with the performance of the system and my buying experience with HVACDirect. I received the entire heat pump system (i.e. indoor and outdoor units and refrigerant line) within 4 days of placing the order, and all material was received undamaged and in full working order. The material came well packed and secured. My only critical comment is that the shipping notice was sent to me on the morning of the day I received the unit - more advance notice would have been helpful. I would highly recommend HVACDirect based on my experience.
