The 25 year old bi-metal thermostat was not compatible with the assembly,
so I purchased a new one from Amazon. It was an inexpensive digital thermostat that seems to work well with the new furnace.I have learned to try to keep things as simple as possible.Review by Paul

We were actually surprised at how quickly it was delivered. We are hoping that the next utility bill will also reflect some gas usage reductions, even though it is not one of the highest rated furnaces. However, one comment was that it was (slightly) more noisy than the previous furnace.
