Goodman 80% 120,000 BTU Two Stage Gas Furnace - 24.5" Width - Upflow / Horizontal

Arrived quickly and well packaged. Good price for a 80% efficiency furnace today. This is for house build in 1938 and renovation in 2018 with a deck floor addition. The livable square footage of this house is 2,100 square feet in Northern New Jersey. Keeps the place comfortable and reasonably quiet. I highly recommend Goodman and HVACDIRECT.com.

Great Option

I will say that HVAC direct provides a great service in not having to jump through hoops in order for a home owner to buy a furnace. The furnace is built pretty basic and that is what I wanted. Just keep in mind that if you are a homeowner installing the unit on your own and you have an issue with the furnace, you must have a certified tech troubleshoot and give you a report to forward to Goodman in order to use the warranty. HVAC direct ships fast as lightning. Don't be afraid, buy the equipment and save thousands.

My experience

I only bought a lower end furnace; but that's not to say it's not a good furnace. For the cost I'm 'very' happy. I expect that as time goes on parts will never be an issue. Nothing fancy here, just a good basic gas furnace. I have experience so I installed it myself, which makes the experience super affordable. Shipment was lightning fast. I live within one state of their West Coast Distribution Center, so I had my furnace in 27 hours from order placement. I would highly recommend HVAV Direct. While I didn't need it, I understand from friends who have; they have great sales support too.

Replaced same model of 18 years

Its a Goodman. Replaced an 18 year old Goodman. The motor on the power vent failed. But instead of fixing one part at a time, I replace the unit. Simple model. If this one works and lasts as well as the last one, I will be very satisfied. I found my installer on Nextdoor. Licensed and certified. Low overhead.

My experience with HVAC direct was excellent in every way! The technician that helped me was very knowledgeable. He was very helpful in advising me as to what I needed for my home. I had a few minor issues with the dimensions only because I gave the wrong sizes that were needed. HVAC direct technicians quickly corrected the issue before the product was sent. I also have to say being it was winter time I was amazed at how fast my new furnace arrived at my home! I was also very pleased that the way it was packaged, it got here without a dent or scratch or bang to it. When I open the box I was very happy with the quality of the product and as I am a jack of all trades I installed it myself effortlessly. I am very happy with HVAC direct. Very effective and properly priced machine

One of my tenants furnace gave in the middle of the arctic cold winter we had in January 2025 and I have to look for a quick replacement. I ordered on Monday, it was delivered on Thursday and I install on Friday. Easy to install for any DIYers and very effective for a 3 bedroom/1320SQFT house. It cost less than $1500 for the machine and delivery and that is a win any day. My tenants are super happy with the delivery and the turnaround time.

HVAC Direct website made it easy to get the furnace I needed. The price was the by far the best I could find and they delivered it very quickly. I'm always nervous about making a purchase of this type over the internet, but it went smoothly and exceeded expectations. The Goodman furnace itself was easy to install and the water drain kit I needed because of horizontal installation had good instructions and installed nicely. As well, the propane conversion kit also was easy to install (just had to borrow a manometer from an HVAC friend). Overall, the furnace is running nicely and I'm very thrilled with the purchase.

Had a hard time contacting a sales rep to close the purchase. Took 3 weeks of phone tag and complaints to hear back about a coil swap to complete a,c / heat package. After that it showed up in a timely manner and was not damaged. Customer service was lacking in this interaction, but the value of the purchase is suitable vs. hiring someone to rip me off because they are supposedly licensed. We all learn, make mistakes, and are fail-able: I have seen professionals make mistakes, if you know your limits you can be independent without having a huge issue. Have someone experienced help and educate you if you're weary. Not all youtubers are accurate

This furnace is a very good deal.

This furnace is replacing a Bryant, Plus 90T furnice with a broken heat exchanger with a lifetime warranty that Bryant wouldn't honor. The Goodman 80k btu and 80% furnice wlil do just as good a job as the as the 90% Bryant did for only 9 years.

Great replacement

Replaced my Carrier after 24 years. Only modification was I had to add 6" to top of plenum because Goodman was shorter. Quick trip to Menards for odds and ends. Took me and my son 3 hrs. to install. Painted the old carrier A-coil case to match and looks great. Turned power on and started right up. Have to get used to very quiet fan motor. Great improvement over the old carrier.

Running perfectly

My furnace is in and running perfectly.....as expected. Great prices.

The ordering and delivery were easy, and quick. The furnace arrived on its pallet completely unscathed, which was a delight.

I also ordered a furnace base with a filter rack. This arrived in good condition as well. It's quality was not so great though. The door to the raclwas not square, nor was it hung level. The hinges weren't evenly attached. I took it all apart and rebuilt it to my satisfaction, rebuilding the filter rack completely....probably won't order from that brand again.

I'll be putting a heat pump on top of this furnace eventually. Will certainly buy from you if you have what I am looking for.

It was outstanding! The furnace and Condenser/A-Coil arrived within 5 days! Both in great shape. I got the furnace and A-Coil installed within a few days. Unit fired up from the 1st thing and the unit was taking care of business nicely in time for the massive sub zero cold front before Christmas. Hardest thing I had to do was get the exhaust line cut and routed thru 100+ year old walls

I will be back in spring to buy a line-set and "whip" for the Condenser. Thank you. I had previously bought from Alpine and I have two Goodman Units in my own house in use from 2008 and 2010 that have required minimal maintenance (flame sensor oxidized) Thank you

I had an old 70% AFUE, 100k btu gas/forced air furnace in my garage. It was originally in a home that was updated with a couple of additions and said furnace was no longer big enough for the house and was replaced. It was 12 yrs old at the time and a little big for my 900 sq ft garage (in Minnesota) but it worked awesome for almost 30 years.

This fall, the old furnace was having issues and needed to be replaced. So, I purchased a Goodman 80% AFUE, 80k btu from you and put it in. It’s exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. A 60k btu unit was on the border of recommendation, so I went one up to 80k. Thank you.

Enjoying the heat

We are enjoying the heat from our new furnace. We are excited to see if this one lasts as long as the one it is replacing. It lasted 30 years. This one is more compact, efficient and lighter. When we received it, the freight company didn’t notify me. It just showed up one day. There was some damage, but we decided it would not effect the working of the furnace. i am close to starting up my new system. Will have it up and running next week. Have had a few distractions in getting my system installed. Will have more to say when its up and running. Would use again

We just installed our HVAC system this week. The new furnace, filter box, vent system, line set and A/C unit all went in without a hitch. I would definitely use you again in the future. We have a 2 HVAC system household, so we will be upgrading that soon. Also thinking of going to a tankless water heater.
