- Goodman Poor Reliability and PerformanceA Goodman "4-ton" 14 SEER was installed in our new house. It cannot keep up with Phoenix summer heat. Specs show it only puts out 3.5 tons. Our experience is that it can only maintain 82° up to 116° ambient. The capacitor has gone out twice in four years. Our previous house has a Trane that was still going after 25 years with no trouble.

Mine came with the liftgate option and the driver unloaded the product(s) (I had a condenser delivered as well) and he put them in my garage for me and waited while I unwrapped and inspected them for acceptance.
