  2. What about Arizona?
    The cut-off temp is 109.4 degrees, and we live in an area that gets a few weeks over 110 . Partly my fault that I didn't read the entire manual before purchasing, but this information should be in the summary. Mr. Cool goes to 122, so I wish I had spent a little more money.

  3. Works well
    I purchased this product for the walk out basement of my home to help with humidity and temperature control for a large aquarium room. It has become taxing on my main system as My son has over 1500 gallons of aquariums down there.

    The product has worked well. He installed it himself at 22 years old and had no trouble. The system is doing its job.

    unit is working great,install was pretty easy followed the instructions I thought were basic and upfront. I took my time rechecked all the steps took about 3Hr by myself I did need some help hanging the inside unit so I could feed the lines into the wall

    We love our system! It works great and is surprisingly very, very quiet. Cannot hear it from inside the house, and barely hear the outside unit when you’re outside! We didn’t think we’d use the heat but with the U.P. Spring we’ve had, we have been using it in the morning to take the chill out of the house. We highly recommend it to anyone looking to purchase a mini-split. It’s a quality product! Thank you so much!

    The unit arrived quickly and was placed exactly in the location requested. I have not had time to open it. The man who was going to install it, an electrition, installed the electric but has been called away since. A contractor I know will be installing the unit in the first part of January.

    The product works fine. The shipping was not great and I had to get a line set returned. I had taken the insurance and that probably helped.



    The main problem is why the app and wifi connection that is not working. This is a joke and the app doesn’t allo the pairing with the mini split wifi. Quite disappointing.

    Like your product works well after install the only complaint I have is not getting feedback when called left messages over three days. Never did hear back, but eventually I figured it out. I sure would have been nice to know I had somebody in the back corner helping me. It felt like after you got your money you were over me and all I had was a couple simple questions

    As requested below I thought I’d write a quick note about my experience with HVAC Direct.

    My Son Nick recommended you guys as he has purchased from you previously… He suggested a “Mr.Cool” item that was not in stock at the time I called, it was suggested to my the Perfect Aire (I believe it is a 18K mini split) was available and would suit my needs for the space. Ordering was uneventful and the shipping was quicker than I expected and a surprise when the driver had a lift gate ! (I fully expected to have to have a couple guys around to get the pallet off the truck).

    We followed the supplied instructions (yes, we actually read them !) and the install when faster than I thought it would take.

    And the best part is…. The unit works like a charm ! Right out of the box – No issues.

    I would highly recommend HVAC Direct to anyone who asks !

  16. I install two 18,000 diy all by myself.. one is still going great after 3 yrs. One isn’t working after Two yrs., the code says bad mother board bad.
    Easy to install good price good quality Thinking about getting one more 18,000 diy first have to find out what’s wrong with the mother board I mention.

    We are very pleased with our Perfect Aire 18K BTU single zone DIY mini split. The most difficult aspect of the installation is coiling the excess line set. It is cumbersome and hard on the hands. Having overcome the challenge, the product works great - very efficient and quieter than the fans we had been using. We are very pleased.

    Installed 2 units. Installation was fairly easy. They work great. They are very quiet on both compressor and head end. Company recommends a 2.5 inch hole but we used a 3 inch hole on second unit and it made installation much easier.

  20. I love it but not a 1 man job.
    The unit cools great, super quiet, waiting to see how much I am saving. I got a $500 rebate from my electric company. It is running circled around the two 3.5 ton units in my store in Myrtle Beach, SC.
    Installation was easy but needed two friends to wrestle the head unit on the bracket. The lip of the bracket could have been longer and would have made things easier. The outside unit was mounted 5 feet off the ground and needed two friends to help me mount it. Make sure you are lifting the coil side, which weights nothing compared to the compressor side of the outside unit. I used Nylog HVAC thread sealer, make sure you get the correct one for the freon you have, and had no leaks. I took several days to install and only grabbed friends for heavy lifting. Bending and straightening the line set was nerve racking but no kinks! I did buy a Harbor Freight tube bender for $10 for the 90 degree bends. I would definitely recommend this Perfect Aire unit!

  21. Works great! Easy install.
    Extremely easy to install. Better warranty than Mr. Cool, and was a little cheaper. I coupled this unit with a Cielo Breez Eco, and it is absolutely perfect! Using it to keep my 1100 sq foot pole barn cool/warm. It does a great job! I especially love that the vents will rotate up & down as well as side to side.

    Heating and cooling a 1000 sf cabin in southcentral Indiana with this unit. Very easy to install and so far we are impressed with how quiet and effective it is. One note, our lineset measured 24'-3" (we were expecting a full 25'-0"... so were a little tight but made it work). Also note, this unit has a wifi module behind the front control panel. If you don't plan to use the wifi controls and don't want the module constantly broadcasting you can unplug it easily and all controls still work fine with the included remote.

    I installed this in 4 hours with the help of two friends. The directions were fairly clear, and the installation went perfectly! This is a well designed package!
    The unit does a GREAT job cooling my workshop. It is whisper quiet!
    I had one issue with the condenser wall mount. Customer service couldn’t have been more helpful, and immediately sent me the right mount.
    I highly recommend both the PerfectAire 36,000 btu unit, and HVACDIRECT!

  25. Excellent Unit!
    So far I'm extremely pleased. The install was very easy and it works like a champ. It's quiet and cools a 1000sqft shop in minutes and holds that temp with minimal effort. My only complaint is that it did not come with the drip line extension. The unit has about 48" or so of drip line already installed in the system however, you need to purchase the extender separately. I really think that if this is being sold as a kit, it should be included. Unfortunately, I did not realize I needed it until I was in the process of installing it. Overall though, I'm very happy with my purchase.

  26. I'm more satisfied than I anticipated
    The only thing you will need help with on this kit is the electrical connection (ask an electrician to run an ac disconnect switch with a "ac whip" for you or do it yourself if you are comfortable/certified.

    The things I needed help with were lifting the units and handling the lineset passing it from the basement up to the condenser outside.

    This unit cools my 1500 sq ft basement from 80 F to 70 F in a couple hours. Dehumidification isn't its strong suit but it does certainly work. If the price difference wasn't so minimal I would've purchased the 24k unit but I'm glad I went bigger because it runs less and saves a lot of electricity and also these are near s'ilent inside and outside at full power.

    To install the 3 ton version or "36,000 BTU" verison of this unit you will need a few people to help lift the unit onto a slab/wallmount or some form of lift/dolly. The weight isn't really a big deal it's the huge size of the 3 ton unit. Not that it's too big or anything its just it's a freakin 3 ton unit.... lol

    Looking forward to having cooler summers, happier plants and a warmer winter.

  27. Fantastic equipment
    The delivery man was extremely courteous and placed the palets where I needed them. This unit was super easy to install. I followed the instructions to the letter. Watching videos on YouTube was a great help. We put the inside unit upstairs. It was easier to mount the inside unit with two people inside and one outside while feeding the Line Set through the wall. I used Plastic gutter downspouts for Line Set covers outside and painted them to match the siding. An HV/AC friend of mine couldn't believe we did it ourselves and that we didn't need to pull a vacuum. It cooled well through the summer and is heating well as we enter winter.

  29. Second unit I bought
    Very easy to install. Just take your time. This is my second unit and they work great. Air-conditioning and heat in one unit and you can’t beat the price. I have both units in my Cabin in the woods. One upstairs and one downstairs. The Wi-Fi hook up is a great feature to have to turn on the heat or your air conditioning before I get there. Customer service at HVAC direct is GREAT. I highly recommend Perfect Air units.

    I have had this unit for about one year now. Definitely worth the money. I haven’t had any problems with my unit. I have it in a second home was a Wi-Fi hook up. The Wi-Fi helps me turn it on before I get to the house. In the summer it cools the house before I get there, and in the winter it heats up before I get there. You can’t ask for anything more! Overall a great product. I highly recommend it.

  35. Easy Installation, Saves Money, Love the Wi-Fi
    WOW.. so easy to install and the unit works great. I have this in my cabin in the Northwoods and it has saved me lots of money on my electric bill. The WI-Fi is awesome and easy to use. It even has a Geo Fence on it so when you leave the house it shuts off automatically and when i return within a certain distance from the house it automatically comes back on. After reading all the negative reviews on the MR Cool Wi-Fi i am so glad i went with Perfect Aire. Thanks for a great product
