Carrier 40MBCQ09-3 is a discrete, recessed ceiling cassette designed for localized comfort without the visual footprint of a wall-mounted unit. Perfect for drop ceilings or areas with limited wall space, it provides uniform air distribution through its 4-way discharge design.

Installation Considerations

Ceiling Cassettes are flush-mounted, which requires removal of enough ceiling material to create a cavity for the unit. These units will fit between 24 on-center joists, but are too large to fit between 16 on-center joists without modifying the structure of your framing. Additionally, Ceiling Cassettes have factory-installed, onboard pumps to lift the condensation produced by the unit during cooling. The pump can lift the condensation up to 14. From there, it will be necessary to construct a PVC drain system to route the condensation to a safe wastewater location. Refrigerant and wiring connections are the same as the wall mounted units.
