Today's Hours 10am - 6pm estThe Austin Air Bedroom Machine in Sandstone is Austin Air's most complete filter, built for people whose sleep is disrupted by allergies, asthma, or chemical sensitivity. It runs at 39.8 dB on low, which is quiet enough to leave on all night beside the bed. Coverage is up to 1,500 sq. ft. at two air changes per hour, or about 700 sq. ft. at four changes per hour.
This is the only Austin Air unit with five stages. Air pulls in through 360-degree grilles on all four sides of the cabinet, then moves through a large particle pre-filter, a medium particle pre-filter, 15 lbs. of activated carbon and zeolite, 60 sq. ft. of true medical grade HEPA, and finally a HEGA carbon cloth. HEGA stands for High Efficiency Gas Adsorption. It is a woven carbon cloth originally developed by the British military, and it gives the Bedroom Machine a second pass at gases, chemical vapors, and odors after the granular carbon has already done its work.
The unit was developed in partnership with the National Sleep Foundation and was used in a Johns Hopkins School of Public Health study on bedroom air quality and asthma. A manual 3-speed dial moves 75, 200, or 400 CFM. Casters are standard, the bottom plate removes for filter changes, and the filter pack is rated for up to five years of normal residential use. Assembled in Buffalo, New York.
The Austin Air Bedroom Machine carries a 5-year manufacturer warranty on the motor, fan, and working parts, plus a 5-year prorated filter warranty under normal residential use. See the manufacturer documentation for full terms and conditions.
