Architectural Air Curtain for Environmental Separation and Insect Control

The Berner Architectural Icon 8 Air Curtain is designed for commercial main entrances and other door openings where environmental separation and flying insect control are important. Recommended for mounting heights up to 8 feet for environmental separation and 7 feet for insect control, the AI08 creates a controlled air stream across open doorways to help separate interior and exterior environments while allowing convenient access through the opening. Its architectural design is well suited for main entrances and other commercial openings where quiet operation, energy efficiency, and a clean appearance are important.

The AI08 is available in ambient, unheated configurations as well as electric, steam, and hot water heated configurations, with single lengths from 36 to 120 inches and one- or two-motor configurations depending on the model. Standard models use 1/5 hp AC motor(s) with ten-speed operation, while optional EC motor(s) are also available. The series features a factory-installed Intelliswitch™ digital controller, an 8 1/4-inch-high by 16-inch-deep cabinet, and a high-efficiency, low-noise, articulating three-vane Pro-V Nozzle. The standard exterior is clear satin anodized aluminum, with optional stainless steel or custom-color finishes available. The AI08 supports wall or top mounting and includes a washable filter.

What's Included

Your purchase includes the Berner Architectural Icon 8 Air Curtain. No assembly is required. A wall mounting system is included, while optional accessories and controls are available separately.

Safety Features

• Secure Mounting Options – Designed for wall or suspended top mounting, with wall mounting brackets and factory-installed 1/4"-20 threaded inserts for secure installation.
• Accessible Service Components – A minimum of 4 inches of clearance is required above the top rear corner of the air curtain for installation and removal of the inlet screen and to ensure proper airflow.
• Indoor Use – The AI08 air curtain is designed for indoor mounting only and shall be mounted on the inside of the building.
• Secure Installation – Mounting hardware supplied by others must be capable of supporting a minimum of three times the weight of the air curtain.
• Electrical Safety – Installation and electrical connections must be performed by qualified personnel in accordance with applicable national, local, and electrical codes. A disconnect switch is required for each branch circuit.

Warranty Information

Berner International provides a 5-year parts warranty on unheated AI08 models and a 2-year parts warranty on heated AI08 models from the original date of shipment, covering defects in workmanship and material, provided the equipment has been properly cared for, installed, and operated in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the limits specified on the nameplate.
