GFRC stands for Glas Fiber Reinforced Concreate and is a lighter weight concrete that is wasier to transport and more resistant to cracking

Yes, HPC offers 3 styles of outdoor logs for gas fire pits that are available in 2 different sizes.

No, it is not recommended to use landscaping rock as it may contain impurities or water which can cause the hot lava rock to pop out of the fire pit.

No, to use a remote control, you would need to choose a fire pit kit with an electronic ignition system.

The user is required to insert and turn a removeable key into the key valve to allow gas to the burner and then the gas is lit directly with a lighter. Simply turn the decorative key to close the valve for shut off.

HPC Ignition Systems Explained:

HPC CSA Certified Match Lit Ignition (MLFPK)

The user is required to insert and turn a removeable key into the key valve to allow gas to the burner and then the gas is lit directly with a lighter. Simply turn the decorative key to close the valve for shut off.

Advantages of Match-Lit Ignition (MLFPK)

  • Simple and affordable
  • Does not require electrical
  • Low maintenance and service

Limitations of the Match-Lit Ignition (MLFPK)

  • No flame sensing, so if the unit gets blown out the burner will still release gas
  • Not permitted for commercial and some residential installations
  • Maximum BTU output is 65K

HPC Push Button Flame Sensing Ignition (FPPK)

With HPC FPPK fire pit burner systems the the safety pilot valve is operated manually using the control knob. To light the fire feature, the control knob for the safety pilot valve is pushed in to allow gas to the pilot. The spark igniter button is then pushed to light the pilot flame. Once the pilot flame is lit, the control knob can be adjusted to control the height of the flame. While the fire pit is running, the thermocouple monitors the pilot flame and acts as a safety shut off.

Advantages of Push Button Flame Sensing (FPPK)

  • Does not require electricity to operate
  • Full flame sensing for safety
  • Flame height is adjustable

Limitations of Push Button Flame Sensing (FPPK)

  • Cannot be operated with a switch or remote control
  • Limited burner sizes
  • 250K max input

HPC Electronic On/Off Ignition (EI)

The EI On/Off electronic ignition system is turned on and off via an external switch, remote cotnrol, or home automation system (not included). The control system heats an igniter to light the pilot. Once the pilot is lit, the system senses the pilot flame through a thermocouple generating a millivolt signal. When the millivolt is satisfied the control system allows gas to flow to the burner igniting the pilot flame which lights the burner. Once the burner is lit, the pilot/thermocouple continuously monitors flame presence and automatically restarts or shuts off gas based on conditions.

Advantages of Electronic On/Off Ignition

  • Automatic ignition via wall switch or remote control (not included)
  • Flame monitoring and auto-shutoff provide high safety assurance
  • Can integrate with smart systems and building controls

Limitations of Electronic On/Off Ignition:

  • Highest upfront cost
  • Requires electrical power
  • Flame not adjustable

HPC Electronic HI/LO Ignition (EI)

The HPC EI HI/LO ignition system is operated via a smart device through the HPC Fire One App (formerly referred to as HPC Fire AR or Bluetooth app). This app is a comprehensive digital tool designed by HPC Fire Inspired to enhance the user experience of their gas fire pits and fire features. It consolidates product visualization, installation guidance, and operational control into one smart device application.

Advantages of Electronic HI/LO Ignition

  • Automatic ignition via smartphone controller
  • Can integrate with smart systems and building controls
  • Variable flame height control

Limitations of Electronic HI/LO Ignition:

  • Highest upfront cost
  • Requires electrical power
  • Requires a smart device to operate
