More About Pellet Stoves & Inserts

Pellet stoves and Pellet Stove Inserts have grown in popularity among homeowners looking for an eco-friendly, efficient alternative to conventional heating methods. Compressed wood pellets are burned in these cutting-edge heating appliances to provide steady warmth while lowering heating expenses and your carbon footprint.

Available Types: Freestanding Pellet Stoves & Pellet Stove Inserts
How do they work? Pellets can be poured directly into the appliance's storage hopper. When heat is called for, the pellets automatically feed into the burn pot from the storage hopper by an electric auger, where they are ignited and burned.
Sizing is Key: Determine how much square footage you need to heat taking your home's layout, account for your home's insulation quality, and your local climate to match the stove's heating capability with your heating needs.

I purchased this pellet stove for my 900 square foot cabin figuring it would at least take a bit of the chill out of the air, but it exceeded my expectations. The delivery company (XPO) was great and set up was super easy. This unit keeps the whole cabin (which was bult as a schoolhouse in 1890 and is rather drafty) really warm on the number 3 setting when it is in the twenties outside and it seems to use 25-35 pounds of pellets in a 24-hour period which for me averages about $5 dollars a day for me. The only negative thing I can say about this unit is that every day I say to myself, "I should have bought this years ago."

The noise level is not considered intrusive by our customers and is comparable to a fan used in the summer to keep cool. Please give us a call if we can help further. Thanks!

Do you have pellet stoves that you can hook up to solar when the electricity goes off?

Most all pellet stoves require 120VAC and draw approximately 3 Amps. Compatibility would depend on your solar system's capability. Please give us a call if we can help further. Thanks!

What size pellet stove do I need?

Pellet stoves are easy to control with a thermostat or remote, allowing you to adjust heat output as needed. To choose the right size, select a model with a heating capacity near or just above the square footage you want to heat. Keep in mind that pellet stove performance varies with heat settings, outdoor temperatures, home layout, and insulation quality.

What is a pellet stove insert?

A pellet fireplace insert is an efficient heating appliance that burns recycled wood pellets and fits into an existing wood-burning fireplace. It provides a convenient, clean-burning option to upgrade your fireplace for better heat output and energy savings.

What is a pellet stove?

Pellet stoves burn wood pellets made from compressed sawdust and other wood waste, which come in bags for easy storage. They feature a hopper to store pellets, an auger system to feed fuel into the combustion chamber, and a fan to circulate warm air, making them a cost-effective heating choice compared to oil or propane.

How do I vent a pellet stove?

Pellet stoves can be vented horizontally through a wall using a 3-inch diameter pellet vent, or vertically with a 3- or 4-inch vent if the vent length exceeds 15 feet. Pellet fireplace inserts use a 4-inch stainless steel chimney liner connected to the insert, topped with a chimney cap and top plate for proper exhaust.

What is a faceplate or surround for a pellet stove insert?

A faceplate, surround, or trim kit is used to close the gap between a fireplace insert and the fireplace opening, creating a clean, finished look. The faceplate should be sized slightly larger than your fireplace’s width and height, and various sizes are available to fit common openings.
