Combining two-stage gas heating with two-stage electric cooling, this all-in-one rooftop system helps deliver dependable comfort while simplifying replacement and installation through Carrier's legacy-compatible rooftop platform.
The integrated gas heating system provides high-capacity heating with two-stage operation to better match changing building requirements. The WeatherMaker 48FE platform incorporates solid-state electronic direct-spark ignition, flame roll-out safety protection, and exclusive IGC anti-cycle protection to support reliable and safe gas-heating operation.
The electric cooling system provides 7.5-ton nominal cooling capacity with two-stage operation. The 48FE 07 and larger models use two-stage cooling to provide additional flexibility as building cooling demand changes, helping support comfortable indoor conditions and efficient commercial operation.
The system uses Puron Advance™ R-454B refrigerant, which has a GWP of 466 and is designed to meet the EPA's low-GWP requirements. Direct-drive EcoBlue™ Technology uses a Vane Axial fan design and electronically commutated motor, providing up to 40% less energy use than legacy belt-drive systems while eliminating belts, blower bearings, and shafts. The 48FE platform offers IEER ratings up to 15.
The packaged rooftop configuration combines gas heating, electric cooling, indoor fan, controls, and related components into a single outdoor unit, helping simplify equipment placement and preserve valuable indoor space. The Carrier WeatherMaker 48FE Series includes a standard limited warranty consisting of 10 years parts-only coverage for an aluminized heat exchanger, 15 years parts-only coverage for a stainless-steel heat exchanger, 5 years parts-only coverage for the compressor, 3 years parts-only coverage for the SystemVu™ controller, and 1 year parts-only coverage on all other parts.
