Bought from Ingrams,went into P3 error code,immediately after install.Takes a long time to get to person,and then they just guess at problem and send parts,and then you have to be the technician.
If you buy,just know,you will have to do repairs,because it’s DIY,no one wants to work on it,and company won’t back you!!!

I'm very pleased with Mr Cool DIY mini split, I would recommend a few things to have some additional detailed info regarding the install. if you're not technically savvy and have no common sense you're in for a treat. HVACDirects sales/customer service is TOP NOTCH! Customer service and product knowledge is a must in a service industry HVACDirect provided these key services without a BS sales pitch. From the initial sale to tracking down the delivery of the product.

I did this install back in August, it is now March and so far it has worked well for both heating and cooling.

The install took about 8 hours with assistance for the first 4 hours. The first hour was was figuring out how and where things will be installed. Hours 2-4 were drilling holes through the house, hanging the indoor and outdoor units, routing the tubing through the channel and testing the connections to make sure things didn't leak. After that, it was fishing the electrical to the panel, hooking up the breaker, installing the electric disconnect, and hooking up electric to the outdoor unit.

My house is a 3 bedroom ranch that is long and narrow with 1,200 sq feet: I put the 18k unit in the living room/ kitchen and the 9k unit in the master bedroom. With the doors open to the bedrooms, everything cools very, very well. I have had solid heating performance when the temperature is above 30F. When it is between 20F and 30F, heating is marginal. Below 20F, I use another heat source. For the most part, as I live in Colorado, I have used this for 95% of my heating needs. The highest electric bill has been in January at $119.46 at $.11 per kw at an average temp of 28F (per my bill, excluding the service charges), with the units set to 72F.

I would absolutely do this again! The only caveat is that I would probably up-size to 12k and 18k for my indoor units. This is because I want to get as much heat out of it as possible.

I've also learned that both indoor units have to run at about the same setting and either run heat or cool, not auto. A different way to describe that is that I need to set the LR to 72 and heat, then I set the MB to 71 and heat. If I set the MB to 73 and cool, I then set the LR to a similar setting in cool (72-74). This is because the system is a closed loop with a single valve that opens and closes. If I set it to auto, the LR could want to cool, while the MB could want to heat. I have also have run into situations where one unit freezes when set to auto during Aug/Sep, using cool this doesn't happen. Clearly, the auto setting doesn't work with a single outdoor unit, which I figured out after talking to Mr. Cool.
