The McDonnell & Miller Series 69 level switch is a mechanical float-type level switch. The switch is mounted directly onto the tank via a 2-1/2” NPT coupling. This switch is typically used as a low-level switch or low water cut-off for low pressure boilers (20 psi maximum) or atmospheric feed tanks. The switch includes two precision single pole single throw switches (one NO and one NC). Within boiler feed systems, the McDonnell & Miller 69 is commonly used as a low-level switch for atmospheric-pressure feed tanks. The maximum operating pressure is 20 PSI so it is typically not used on deaerators. Since the switch is mounted directly to the tank, it can be affected by waves within the tank. For this reason, the Model 69 switch is typically only used as a low-level switch. It is not recommended for use as a high-level switch or makeup level control switch. The Model 69 switch has an insertion depth of 4-1/8”. The Model 369 switch has an insertion depth of 1-3/4”.
