What Is a Submersible Dewatering Pump?
A submersible dewatering pump operates while submerged in the water being removed. The ST2047 uses a centrifugal impeller to move water through its 2-inch discharge, making it suitable for general water-removal applications where dependable pumping and compact equipment are required. Multiquip positions the ST2047 for use by contractors, service utilities, municipalities, and homeowners.
85 GPM Flow Rate and 46-Foot Maximum Head
The ST2047 is rated for a maximum pumping capacity of 85 GPM and a maximum head of 46 feet. Actual pumping performance varies according to total system resistance, including discharge elevation, hose length, fittings, and other flow restrictions. The maximum-rated values represent the pump's published operating capabilities and should not be interpreted as simultaneous maximum flow and maximum head.
Durable Impeller and Mechanical Seal System
The ST2047 uses a neoprene rubber-over-steel impeller designed for dependable pumping performance. Its mechanical seal system consists of oil-bathed, dual silicon carbide, corrosion-resistant seals, with a specified seal-oil capacity of 4.0 ounces (120 cc). The pump also uses a stainless steel mechanical shaft, nitrile rubber O-rings, and stainless steel hardware.
115V Single-Phase Electrical Operation
The ST2047 operates at 115V, single-phase, 60 Hz. The current Multiquip specification lists 25 amps of starting current and 9.8 amps of running current, with a motor speed of 3,250 ±30 RPM. The pump uses a NEMA 5-15P plug and a 49.2-foot (15-meter) power cable with strain-relief protection.
Built-In Thermal Overload Protection
Internal thermal overload protection is standard on the ST2047 and helps protect the motor from excessive operating temperatures. The current specification lists Class E insulation and counterclockwise rotation. The manufacturer also notes that the ST2047 does not require additional electrical protection for its internal thermal overload protection function.
Compact and Portable Construction
The ST2047 has a 7.4-inch pump diameter and a 15.4-inch overall height, providing a compact form suitable for transporting between dewatering locations. The pump is not intended for pumping salt water or chemicals, and the manufacturer provides operating instructions that should be followed to prevent dry operation and protect the pump from debris.
Float Switch Options
The ST2047 can be configured with compatible Multiquip float-switch options for automatic water-level control. The current 2026 documentation identifies SW1A, SW1WOPA, and SW2A float-switch configurations, including single mechanical float and double mechanical float options depending on the selected configuration.
