Read our privacy policyThe Multiquip ST2040TF is a 2-inch submersible trash pump with an integrated tethered mechanical float switch designed for automatic water removal in construction, industrial, residential, and general dewatering applications. With a maximum pumping capacity of 79 GPM and a maximum head of 40 feet, the ST2040TF is suited for standing water, excavations, site drainage, manholes, flooded basements, swimming pools, quarries, irrigation, and other applications involving water with solids or debris.
The ST2040TF combines a heavy-duty cast iron pump assembly with a neoprene rubber-over-steel impeller, dual silicon carbide mechanical seals, stainless steel shaft, internal thermal overload protection, and a molded power cable with strain relief. Its tethered industrial mechanical float switch allows the pump to cycle automatically as water levels change, making it useful for unattended dewatering applications.
A submersible trash pump operates while submerged in the water being removed and is designed to handle water containing solids and debris. The ST2040TF uses a centrifugal pumping design with a 2-inch discharge and solid-handling capability, while its tethered float switch provides automatic operation when water levels reach the activation point.
The ST2040TF provides up to 79 GPM of pumping capacity with a maximum head of 40 feet. Its pumping performance is suitable for removing water from excavations, manholes, drainage areas, flooded basements, swimming pools, quarries, irrigation systems, and other dewatering locations.
The ST2040TF is equipped with a tethered industrial mechanical float switch assembly for automatic water-level control. As the water level changes, the float switch cycles the pump on and off within its operating range, reducing the need for continuous manual monitoring during suitable unattended dewatering applications.
The ST2040TF uses a heavy-duty cast iron housing and a neoprene rubber-over-steel impeller designed for demanding pumping conditions. Its oil-bathed dual silicon carbide mechanical seals, stainless steel shaft, sealed bearings, and stainless steel hardware provide durable construction for regular dewatering service.
The ST2040TF operates at 115V, single-phase, 60 Hz with a 25-amp starting current and 6.8-amp running current. Internal thermal overload protection helps protect the motor from excessive operating temperatures and overload conditions. The pump uses a NEMA 5-15P power plug for connection to a suitable grounded electrical supply.
The ST2040TF has a 10.3-inch pump diameter and 16.8-inch overall height, providing a compact configuration for confined dewatering areas. Its dry weight is approximately 34 pounds, and the 26.2-foot molded power cable provides additional reach during setup.
The ST2040TF is designed to pump liquids up to 104°F (40°C), handle spherical solids up to 0.71 inches (18 mm), and dewater flat surfaces to approximately 6.3 inches (160 mm) of water level. Minimum submergence is 18 inches (457 mm). The pump should be operated according to Multiquip's installation, electrical, and operating requirements.
The Multiquip ST2040TF pump has a 1 Year Warranty from the date of purchase. Refer to Multiquip's warranty terms for complete coverage, conditions, and exclusions.
The Multiquip ST2040TF is a heavy-duty electric submersible trash pump designed for automatic water removal in construction, industrial, and residential applications. Powered by a 2/3 HP, 115V single-phase motor, the ST2040TF delivers up to 79 gallons per minute with a maximum published head of 40 feet, providing dependable pumping performance for standing water, excavations, site drainage, manholes, wastewater, quarries, irrigation, flooded basements, and other demanding dewatering applications.
Unlike the standard ST2040T, the ST2040TF includes an integrated tethered industrial mechanical float switch that automatically starts and stops the pump as water levels rise and fall. Its 2-inch NPT female discharge supports efficient water movement, while the abrasion-resistant neoprene-rubber-over-steel impeller is designed for handling water containing solids and debris. The pump can pass solids up to 0.71 inches in diameter and has a published minimum pumping level of 6.3 inches.
