Panasonic FV-12ESC1 Intelli-Balance® Elite Plus+ 120 CFM Any Climate ERV
The Panasonic Intelli-Balance® Elite Plus+ 120 (FV-12ESC1) is a high-efficiency energy recovery ventilator that swaps stale indoor air for fresh outdoor air while holding onto the heating and cooling energy you've already paid for. Its hygroscopic core transfers both heat and moisture, so incoming air is pre-warmed in winter and pre-cooled and drier in summer.
It's built to perform in every North American climate zone. When temperatures drop, a frost prevention cycle protects the core, and you can choose between recirculation or exhaust mode depending on the installation. The Elite Plus+ is recommended for areas where winter lows can reach -22°F (-30°C).
With up to 120 CFM of balanced airflow and a built-in ASHRAE 62.2 timer, the FV-12ESC1 helps homes meet ASHRAE 62.2, LEED®, Indoor airPLUS, California Title 24, and the 2021 Washington State Residential Energy Code. It can run on its own dedicated ductwork or tie into your existing air handler.
Product Features:
- Adjustable Airflow: Set supply and exhaust independently from 30 to 120 CFM with the built-in digital control panel. An optional boost switch ramps the unit up to 120 CFM on demand.
- Auto Balancing Mode: When turned on, adjusting either supply or exhaust automatically matches the other side to keep indoor pressure even.
- High Recovery Efficiency: HVI-certified 89% Sensible Recovery Efficiency (heating) and 83% Total Recovery Efficiency (cooling), drawing no more than 64 watts at 110 CFM.
- SmartFlow™ EC Motors: Two enclosed DC brushless motors sense static pressure and adjust speed to hold your set CFM, even with longer or more restrictive duct runs.
- Mold-Resistant Core: Panasonic's capillary transfer core is treated to resist mold for long-lasting performance.
- MERV 13 Filtration: Ships with two MERV 13 filters that clean both airstreams before they reach the core. A washable MERV 6 filter is available as an option. Replacements: FV-FL1315ES1 (MERV 13) or FV-FL0615ES1 (MERV 6).
- Fault & Filter Alerts: A CEC-certified Fault Indication Device flags installation and maintenance issues, and light and sound reminders kick in after 90 days of run time to check the filters.
- Flexible Installation: Wall, ceiling, and floor mounting brackets are included, along with four 6" duct connections. A removable damper allows mirror installation, and it comes with a standard power cord plus a hardwire adapter kit.
- Expandable Controls: Pair with the optional FV-SCVE2 touchscreen wall control or the Swidget® WP100PBA Wi-Fi module for app control, airflow and humidity readings, and filter notifications. Thermostat and air handler sync is built in.
- Durable Construction: Galvanized, corrosion-resistant steel housing.
Warranty
The Panasonic Intelli-Balance® Elite Plus+ 120 is covered by a 6-year warranty on the EC motors and a 3-year warranty on all other parts, both from the original purchase date.

Whole-Home Fresh Air Ventilation with Efficient EC Motors
The Intelli-Balance® Elite Plus+ 120 provides balanced, code-compliant ventilation that brings in fresh outdoor air while exhausting stale indoor air in equal amounts. This keeps pressure even inside the home and helps clear out pollutants, odors, allergens, and excess moisture that build up in tightly sealed houses.
Two enclosed DC brushless EC motors power the supply and exhaust sides independently. They're rated for continuous run, use as little as 21 watts at low airflow, and include built-in thermal protection. Panasonic's SmartFlow™ technology lets the EC motors sense static pressure and adjust speed automatically, so the unit holds its set airflow regardless of the duct layout.
Supply and exhaust can each be set from 30 to 120 CFM using the built-in digital control panel, with an ASHRAE 62.2 intermittent timer for code compliance. It works as a fully dedicated system or tied into your existing air handler, making it a good fit for new construction and retrofits. With selectable frost prevention down to -22°F, the Intelli-Balance® Any Climate ERV keeps fresh air moving in every season.
