Durable Materials & Construction

The Plastec Storm 10 blower is engineered for aggressive, corrosive, and chemical environments, combining reliable performance with rugged construction. Its entire airstream path, including the housing and impeller, is made of injection-molded polypropylene, a plastic resin that is inherently resistant to acids, solvents, salts, and moisture. The polypropylene is enhanced with HALS (Hindered-Amine Light Stabilizers) for improved UV resistance, making the blower suitable for exposed or outdoor use. Because there’s no metal in the flow path, the Storm 10 resists corrosion and chemical attack, making it ideal for applications where metallic components would fail. This all-plastic construction helps ensure long life in harsh conditions, including those found in chemical scrubbers, fume exhausts, and process venting environments.

The Storm 10 offers outstanding durability in chemically aggressive settings, delivering performance with minimal maintenance and long-term stability.

Suitable Applications for Plastec Storm 10 Forward Curve Blower

  • Chemical plants and labs – Designed to exhaust acidic fumes and gases in plants, labs, and processing areas with corrosion-resistant polypropylene build.
  • Scrubber systems – Fits into scrubbers and ducted exhaust lines requiring higher static pressure performance.
  • Lab Fume Extraction – Removes harmful gases from hoods, cabinets, and enclosures in research and cleanroom environments.
  • Water Treatment – Handles chlorine, bleach, and other treatment chemicals in wastewater facilities.
  • Marine & Coastal Use – UV-stabilized polypropylene resists salt, moisture, and harsh dockside conditions.
  • Battery & Storage Areas – Safely manages hydrogen and chemical off-gassing in battery, EV, and fuel cell rooms.
  • Industrial Processes – Supports plating, cleaning, and surface treatment lines where corrosive chemicals are present.

Customer Questions
Is the blower ship ready to use?
Yes. The blower comes packaged and ready for mounting or placement, with only minimal setup needed.
How energy efficient is the Storm 10 blower?
Because it uses a direct-drive design with no belts or extra moving parts, more of the power goes directly into the airflow. This makes it more efficient and reliable.
Does the blower need vibration pads or special mounts?
It’s a good idea to use rubber pads or isolation mounts. They help reduce noise, prevent vibration from transferring to nearby equipment, and extend the life of the blower.
Can I tilt or swivel the blower head for better airflow direction?
No. The Storm 10 is fixed in one direction and does not tilt or swivel. If you’re unsure which setup works best for you, our team is happy to help.
Does the plastic body make it weaker than metal blowers?
Not at all. The polypropylene body is thick and reinforced, making it strong enough to handle demanding conditions without warping or breaking.
