This is the second DYI mini split unit that I have bought from HVACdirect Being a real DYI kind of guy, I found them to be quite easy to install
Delivery was quick and easy The driver from the trucking company call about 30 minutes ahead of delivery and because of my location he meet me in a parking lot up on the highway which really helped us both out I was amazed at how well the units were packaged
I inspected the unit and made sure every thing was there, loaded up and back home in less then 30 minutes
The first is a 18k unit thats out in the garage and the latest is a 12k unit that is in a large add on walk in closet
Both are good looking units and are operating well
In all, from the time I ordered both units to the time I finished up the install, the process was a breeze

I have purchased (5) DIY units from HVAC Direct over the past few years. Everything has been as described and smooth purchases to smooth installs. Nervous as heck on my first one and confident on my fourth one. I haven't installed the most recent purchase (5th unit) as of this date. I may have a need for one more unit as I enclose one more building on the farm.

Installed a 12000 BTU DYI and very pleased.

Purchased 12k BYu model. Unconventional install as it was on an interior wall. Ram through attic. Took a couple hours over two days. Up and running great. Instructions are easy to follow.

This unit is installed in a detached hobby workshop finished-off to residential standards for insulation, etc. It has an insulated wood floor structure. It replaces baseboard electric heat and window AC. Works great on hot days. The sizing calculations seem to be based on having the unit available to run continuously. I'm in my shop only in the afternoons so I have found that on cold days I should program the unit to come on 1 to 3 hours before I go out there... Thankfully that is easy to do with the smartphone app. If this unit stays reliable, I should be happy with my decision to purchase and self-install this DIY mini-split.

I purchased the 24000 BTU DIY Perfect Aire model. Its a beautiful unit, very easy to install. Works fantastic. I will be buying another unit for the second floor.
