I wish it had a freeze guard heater setting down to 40F. BONUS: It works with Amazon Alexa but they don't seem to market this feature! I enjoy turning it on from my smart speaker because the remote control interface is busy and complicated. I plan to buy more of these.

- Good unitThe unit works well. It takes about an hour to heat my 800 square foot shop from around 32 degrees to 60 degrees.
I would allow about 8 hours for the installation. Getting power to the unit was about half of that.
The remote reads in Celsius - darned if I can figure out how to get it to read in Fahrenheit.

- Impressive UnitDid DIY installation of your PerfectAire 18,000 BTU Mini-Split. Would have bought your 12,000 BTU unit, but for some reason it has lower ratings score than the 18,000, so I opted for the 18,000 even though it costs a bit more. I am very happy with the ease of installation and the performance so far (3months' usage). It is presently 15 degrees outside, and the unit is keeping up fine...so I will likely be ordering more of these in the future. Thanks!

- Great so farOur mini split was delivered on time and in good shape. It was very easy to connect once I got electricity to the area. We're going on a year, and it's done great. Even this past winter when temps were extremely low in my area, it was still putting out heat. It wasn't as good as when the temps aren't so low, but it did the job. I did notice that it had to defrost more often. The A/C works great. I have the unit in a 30-40 metal shop with 16-foot-high ceilings at the peak. It's spray foamed and the A/C can keep it comfortable. It would take the A/C a little time to freeze us out, but I just leave it on 75 all the time. I'll be purchasing another unit from HVAC direct due to the smoothness of my transaction.

This is the second DYI mini split unit that I have bought from HVACdirect Being a real DYI kind of guy, I found them to be quite easy to install
Delivery was quick and easy The driver from the trucking company call about 30 minutes ahead of delivery and because of my location he meet me in a parking lot up on the highway which really helped us both out I was amazed at how well the units were packaged
I inspected the unit and made sure every thing was there, loaded up and back home in less then 30 minutes
The first is a 18k unit thats out in the garage and the latest is a 12k unit that is in a large add on walk in closet
Both are good looking units and are operating well
In all, from the time I ordered both units to the time I finished up the install, the process was a breeze

- Really likingI’m really liking the mini split that I ordered. The shipping from HVACDIRECT was excellent. I called in to check if the unit was in stock and the nice lady who answered stated that it was not in stock but that she would do everything she could to ensure one was shipped out as soon as received. I actually received the unit way sooner that I thought. It seems like the product came in right after I ordered it with her on the phone because I had it at my location several days later. The unit was packed very well. It was on a pallet and all the boxes were in the middle and then surrounded by a heavy layer of carboard “walls†put up all around the pieces centered on the pallet. Everything was then wrapped in clear wrap. The instructions were very straight forward and within an hour or two, I had the unit installed and working. It blows a lot more than I thought it would and so far it’s cooled and heated really well. The remote is nice, the unit is quiet, all the parts arrived correctly and without damage. I am a happy customer who will be using HVACDIRECT for all my mini split needs in the future. Excellent experience that I really appreciated. I have it installed in a 30x40 spray foamed metal building.

My Son Nick recommended you guys as he has purchased from you previously… He suggested a “Mr.Cool” item that was not in stock at the time I called, it was suggested to my the Perfect Aire (I believe it is a 18K mini split) was available and would suit my needs for the space. Ordering was uneventful and the shipping was quicker than I expected and a surprise when the driver had a lift gate ! (I fully expected to have to have a couple guys around to get the pallet off the truck).
We followed the supplied instructions (yes, we actually read them !) and the install when faster than I thought it would take.
And the best part is…. The unit works like a charm ! Right out of the box – No issues.
I would highly recommend HVAC Direct to anyone who asks !

- Very pleasedWith respect to your company’s performance, I have been very pleased. The Perfect Aire system’s price was reasonable, especially considering the free shipping. It was securely packaged for shipping so that there was absolutely no shipping damage. The order also arrived complete with nothing missing. My only critical comment regarding packaging for shipping is that the very large pallet made it relatively difficult for the driver to use a pallet jack to get it off the truck for my residential curb delivery. Nevertheless, this was accomplished without incident.
I got the system finally installed only yesterday and it is working very well, cooling my 1200 square foot shop (steel with sprayed on foam insulation). I had no real difficulties installing the system. I’d never done anything like it before, so I took my time. My only criticism of the unit has to do with the instructions. It’s obvious the manual was written by someone whose first language is not English. The manual for the remote (the actual operating instructions) is particularly problematical, with several grammatical errors. More bothersome, though, is that I have no idea what two of the “modes†on this system do. There is no explanation whatsoever for “AI Smart†mode or for “Lock†mode. The instructions tell how to turn them on and off, but not what they do.

- I love it but not a 1 man job.The unit cools great, super quiet, waiting to see how much I am saving. I got a $500 rebate from my electric company. It is running circled around the two 3.5 ton units in my store in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Installation was easy but needed two friends to wrestle the head unit on the bracket. The lip of the bracket could have been longer and would have made things easier. The outside unit was mounted 5 feet off the ground and needed two friends to help me mount it. Make sure you are lifting the coil side, which weights nothing compared to the compressor side of the outside unit. I used Nylog HVAC thread sealer, make sure you get the correct one for the freon you have, and had no leaks. I took several days to install and only grabbed friends for heavy lifting. Bending and straightening the line set was nerve racking but no kinks! I did buy a Harbor Freight tube bender for $10 for the 90 degree bends. I would definitely recommend this Perfect Aire unit!Review by Patrick

- Highly recommendedHeating and cooling a 1000 sf cabin in southcentral Indiana with this unit. Very easy to install and so far we are impressed with how quiet and effective it is. One note, our lineset measured 24'-3" (we were expecting a full 25'-0"... so were a little tight but made it work). Also note, this unit has a wifi module behind the front control panel. If you don't plan to use the wifi controls and don't want the module constantly broadcasting you can unplug it easily and all controls still work fine with the included remote.

- Loving our Perfect AireI just finish the installation of this unit and I LOVE IT!! DIY except hired an electrician to do the wiring. It's quiet and performs beautifully. If you're not handy and don't have a decent supply of tools, you might need help with the installation. I purchased before the price dropped, but hey, that's ok, because my house is cool! Only con that I have is that there is a lot of extra hose outside. I purchased a wall mount static hose hanger and looped ot on that. Presto! Saved myself a boatload of money as estimated for hvac contractor installations were $7000-9000.

- Great DIY mini-split systemReceived my shipment of the PerfectAire 18k DIY mini split unit quickly in Southern California within one week from order placement, shipped all the way from Atlanta, GA. Good shipper, no damage, init was secured well on brand new pallet, delivered it right into my garage from the truck, no problem. This is the very same as a “Mr. Cool” system, it’s just branded “PerfectAire” instead. (HVAC Direct reps confirmed this fact.). The system does not come with an extension tube for the condensation drain. You have to purchase one if you need it. I was able to make the line set fit in a 3 inch wide cover kit that I found elsewhere. Installation is very straight-forward, just follow the instructions which are fairly clear. If you are fairly handy with tools, you’ll have no problem. One tip, the flange of the hole tube for the line set going through the wall needs to be *completely* flush to both sides of the wall, especially on the inside wall, in order to have the wall unit mount flat to the wall—this can be an issue if you are sloping the tube downward by a quarter-inch as is recommended. The system comes with a very nice additional “Cielo Breez” WIFI controller, which is actually far better than the Mr. Cool wifi “dongle” and app. The Cielo wifi controller is a very nice, unexpected “perk” of this PerfectAire system. I was pleasantly surprised at the ease and good function of the “pre-charged” DIY “quick connect” line set—it’s very flexible, you can easily make 45 and even 90-degree bends by hand. The inside air handler wall unit also is very good. It has many functions and good air speed power. And this unit is so quiet, for both units inside and out. No vibration noise on the compressor mounted outside on a wall mount bracket. This system is impressive, I am hopeful that it will last and perform well for a long time.
