The unit was packaged well, and the installation was straightforward. It’s heated my workshop in Northern Michigan for three seasons now, and it’s been flawless.

HVAC Direct delivered on time and unit was incredibly packaged for freight. The unit itself is performing quite well in an uninsulated garage. Keeps everything from freezing. I could not be happier with this purchase and my purchase experience. I will definitely purchase from HVAC Direct when its time to heat my 30x40 barn.

Ordered to replace an old UDAP 45. Basically the same but taller. Fit fine as a hanging unit in the garage. Quieter and warmer output than the old one. Pretty much just unhooked the old one, unmounted it and mounted the new one with the same bolts, reattached connections with a slight modification to the venting. Free shipping and it still got here in less than a week. Overall, great experience with HVACDirect and the price was the lowest I could find.

Customer Questions
Can this heater be used to heat a home?
These heaters can be used in a garage, but they are not approved for use in indoor living spaces. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
If the green light is green flashing, what does that mean?
There are a variety of things that this could indicate. Refer to Table 26 on page 59 of the Reznor UDXC Installation and Maintenance Manual. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
What type of venting do these unit heaters require? B-vent or PVC?
These units require Category I (B-vent) for vertical venting through the roof, or Category III for venting horizontally through side walls. The exhaust on these units exceeds a temperature that would allow for PVC Venting. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give us a call. Thanks!
Can I use PVC pipe for the combustion air intake?
Reznor does not approve the use of PVC pipe for combustion air intake. Reznor only approves the use of the concentric venting, which is not compatible with PVC. Attempting to vent non-concentric can lead to pressure imbalances which would cause the pressure switch to intermittently turn the unit off. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give us a call. Thanks!
What is the max length for B-vent to exhaust through the roof?
Please refer to pages 34-35 of the href="https://hvacdirect.com/media/pdf/Reznor%20UDXC%20Installation%20and%20Maintenance%20Manual.pdf" target="rltdDoc">installation manual for vertical venting size constraints. If you have any further questions, please feel free to give us a call. Thanks!
