The 30A is a multi-purpose, solid fuel furnace that demonstrates its versatility by providing warm air central duct heating. The dependable model 30A utilizes durable cast-iron shaker grates, capable of burning both wood and coal and the draft inducer kit is included. The rigid two-piece welded firebox design is sustained by firebrick lined sidewalls as well as heavy-duty cast iron front and rear liners.

I’m into my 8th winter using this furnace. For the first 7 years I burned wood and it performed well heating my 2500 sq. foot house. This year I had a chance to buy coal at a great price and I must say I prefer to use coal. The burn times are 3 times longer, 12 hours vs 4 for wood, and the heat is more consistent and easier to control. The only maintenance I’ve performed over the years is replacing firebricks, baffle rod cotter pins, and door gaskets, all very simple and inexpensive. Some people have given the distribution motors a bad rap, but if they are in a filtered box and oiled annually they will perform; I’ve never had a problem with them. My furnace looks like new because I seasoned it when it was new and have never over fired it.
