Customer Questions
Can I change the input and output flange from 4'' to 6''? What is the size of the pipe for the drain?
No you cannot change the input and output on the flanges but you could use duct increasers to 6”. The drain is standard pressure fitted (push on) connector. It's held inside the HRV unit with a built in hole in the drain pan. The dimensions are 2 inches long with about a ½ inch diameter... If you have any further questions please feel free to give us a call! Thanks.
What makes the Frigate HRV different from a regular exhaust fan?
Unlike a standard exhaust fan that only removes indoor air, the Frigate HRV also brings in fresh outdoor air while recovering heat from the outgoing air. This helps improve indoor air quality, maintain balanced airflow, and reduce heating energy loss.
Does the Frigate HRV require regular maintenance?
Yes. Routine filter cleaning or replacement along with periodic inspections helps maintain proper airflow, indoor air quality, and long-term system efficiency.
How often should the filters be cleaned or replaced?
Filters are typically checked every few months and cleaned or replaced as needed depending on indoor air conditions, dust levels, and system usage. Regular maintenance helps keep the system operating efficiently.
Is the Frigate HRV noisy during operation?
No. The Frigate HRV is designed for quiet, continuous operation, making it suitable for homes and living spaces where comfort and low noise levels are important.
What does “EC” mean in the Frigate HRV EC?
EC stands for electronically commutated motor technology, which is designed to improve airflow efficiency while reducing electricity consumption.
